Meet the Amazing Cast of Dragons & Mythical Beasts

Christopher Dobson - Dave the Hero Trainer (UK Tour)

Trained at the University of East Anglia, Christopher Dobson takes on the role of Dave the Hero Trainer in the UK Tour of Dragons & Mythical Beasts. His former Credits include The Singing Mermaid (Little Angel Theatre), ‘Oi Frog and Friends Live’ (Kenny Wax Family Entertainment) and Peter Rabbit’s Garden Adventure (Histrionic Productions.)

 

Ben Galpin - Dave the Hero Trainer (London)

Returning to Dragons & Mythical Beasts for the London run, Ben will also play Dave the Hero Trainer. His theatre credits include The Hunting of the Snark (Vaudeville Theatre, Sydney Opera House & UK Tour), Bard in the Yard (Will & Co), Joyce (Sharjah Fringe), Tabby McTat (Southbank Centre), Potted Sherlock (Vaudeville Theatre), The Tempest (Thick As Thieves), Twelfth Night & A Christmas Carol (Open Bar Theatre), Bite-Size Plays (St James Theatre) and Romy & Julian (Vienna’s English Theatre).

 

Richard Booth - Puppeteer Technician, Captain, Puppeteer 

Having trained at Mountview Academy of Dramatic Arts, Booth has enjoyed a successful theatre career to date. His credits include Dinosaur World Live (US & UK tours), The Magic Flute (Glyndebourne Opera), War Horse (New London Theatre), BFG (Bolton Octagon) and Kate Bush: Before the Dawn (Eventim Apollo). 

 

Amber-Rose Perry - Puppeteer

Based in London and Bristol, Amber-Rose Perry trained at East 15 Acting School and the Curious School of Puppetry, and has worked as a lead puppeteer for both stage and screen. Her credits include the BBC adaptations of His Dark materials, and she has now mastered the art of handling heavy, complex puppet dragons live for the Dragons and Mythical Beasts production. 

 

Dan Armstrong - Puppeteer, Understudy Host

Having trained at the Curious School of Puppetry, Dan has brought his puppetry skills to some exceptional stage shows. His theatre credits include Midsummer Night’s Dream (Scottish Opera), The Smeds & The Smoos (UK Tour), Gnomous Enormous (Puppets with Guts) and Peter Pan (Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre).

 

Emily Cooper - Puppeteer Technician, Puppeteer

Emily Cooper trained as a puppeteer at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. She’s since operated some of the world’s most magnificent puppets in productions such as Dragons & Mythical Beasts (London & UK tour), War Horse (West End) and Dinosaur World Live (UK, Kuwait and US Tour).

 

Will Palmer - Puppeteer (London)

Will Palmer has many TV and screen credits to his name including Shaun of the Dead. He’s also hit the stage with roles such as Flop/Pando in Bing Live (UK Tour), The De Nova Super (A Brilliant Everything), Cheshire Cat in Alice’s Adventures Underground (Les Enfants Terrible) and Will in Hell Yes I’m Tough Enough (Rosemary Branch Theatre).
